Pope Branch Trail in Ward 7 is the first unpaved trail in DPR park system inventory and highlight the work that has been done to make the Pope Branch Trail a destination for neighbors and hiking enthusiasts for years to come!

DPR hosted two Student Conservation Association (SCA) crews consisting of 12 high school members and two adult crew leaders working to establish a hike-worthy trail. The crew cleaned the park, cut new trail, and created several visitor access structures.

The scenic trail covers close to one-mile along the Pope Branch tributary of the Anacostia River watershed.
